Longines Global Championship Tour London 2023
As a local London stable with show jumping proprietors, we are passionate about supporting the sport in our home city. The Longines Global Champions Tour is a prestigious event that brings together the world's top show jumpers to compete for unprecedented prize money. This year, the London leg of the tour took place from August 10th to August 13th at the Royal Chelsea Hospital. Equestrian fans from all over the world gathered in London over the weekend to enjoy this incredible event and we were excited to be a part of it!
This year the Hyde Park Stables Trophy (Int. jumping competition against the clock with jump-off 1.15 m) went to Aisling Byrne and her speedy mare Celeste SPB Z. She was nearly a second faster than Great Britain’s Michaela Whitaker on Lingala who came in second. Georgina Harvey-Lazarus and Night's Watch came in third place. The winner will have the opportunity to hack with us on a scenic ride around the park. We can't wait to have Aisling come for a visit!
Our ponies were a big hit at the show, helping the younger generation fall in love with the sport. On Sunday, we offered pony rides and Rosie, one of Jodie's original ponies, made an appearance. She brought back a lot of fond childhood memories for everyone who saw her.
Ellie and Jodie our proprietor both competed their horses over the weekend. Ellie rode in the 2* with two of her mares while Jodie rode in the 5* as part of the New York Empire team in the Global Championship League.
